Emailable review (2026): fast and SOC 2, but cautious on work domains
Emailable got every consumer address and dead domain right in our test and answered in 0.3 seconds, with SOC 2 Type II behind it. On work domains it called 12 of 30 real addresses catch-all, so it got 70 of 100 right. Use it for consumer and newsletter lists, not cold outbound to work addresses.
pipe0 neither competes with nor buys from Emailable. How we review
Our score for Emailable, the average of four criteria
Fast, easy, and SOC 2 certified, and flawless on consumer addresses, but it calls many work addresses catch-all, so outbound lists need a second check.
Best for
- Cleaning newsletter and consumer lists quickly
- Teams that need SOC 2 Type II paperwork from a mid-priced verifier
- Signup forms, where a 0.3 second check matters
Skip it if
- Your list is mostly work addresses for cold outbound
- You need a definite answer on accept-all domains
- Price per check decides and accuracy on work domains doesn't
250 free credits, a clean web app, four plain states with a reason, and official libraries for Ruby, Node, and Python.
Perfect on Gmail, fake freemail, and dead domains, but 12 of 30 real work addresses came back catch-all. 70 of 100 right in our test.
10,000 checks for $60, the same as Bouncer, which resolved far more work addresses. Credits never expire and unknowns are refunded.
A CLI with an agent skill for Claude Code and Codex, 25 requests a second, and batches of 50,000, but no MCP server.

Emailable in our benchmark
We ran the same 100 labelled addresses through every verifier we test and scored each verdict against the known answer. These are the results from October 2026.
| Verifier | Accuracy | Real confirmed | Fakes caught | Fakes passed | Real rejected | Undetermined | Median time |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emailable | 70% | 36 of 50 | 34 of 50 | 1 | 1 | 28 | 0.3 s |
| LeadMagic | 97% | 49 of 50 | 48 of 50 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 2.0 s |
| ZeroBounce | 96% | 47 of 50 | 49 of 50 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 0.3 s |
| Bouncer | 93% | 47 of 50 | 46 of 50 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 0.5 s |
| MixRank | 93% | 47 of 50 | 46 of 50 | 0 | 3 | 4 | 1.3 s |
| MillionVerifier | 66% | 31 of 50 | 35 of 50 | 1 | 1 | 32 | 0.7 s |
Emailable returned the same verdict as other providers 73 to 91% of the time
MillionVerifier (91%)
ZeroBounce (73%)
Bouncer (73%)
How we tested
- Every verifier got all 20 fake Gmail and Outlook addresses and all 10 addresses at nonexistent domains right, and all but Bouncer got all 20 real Gmail addresses. The differences are on work domains.
- Emailable was scored with its default settings. With its accept-all check on, 6 more real work addresses came back catch-all and no catch-all verdict was resolved.
- One real address was rejected by every verifier. A sign-in 45 days earlier proves the Google account then, not the address today, so it may be a labelling error.
- Median times are from uncached calls, but not all from the same run: Bouncer and Emailable in October 17 runs, the others on October 6.
- Each test ran on 100 records.
- Known-valid addresses are pipe0 users with a live Google sign-in in the last 45 days; known-invalid addresses are synthetic, with no person behind them.
- Catch-all, unknown, and risky verdicts count as undetermined, never as wrong. Only a fake passed as valid or a real address called invalid is an error.

What is Emailable?
Emailable checks whether an email address will accept mail before you send to it. It started in New York in 2017 as Blaze Verify, merged with TheChecker and took the Emailable name in 2021, and says more than 300,000 businesses use it.
You can upload a list, call one endpoint per address, or add a widget to a
signup form. Each check returns one of four states (deliverable, risky,
undeliverable, or unknown) with a reason, such as rejected_email or
low_deliverability. The same credits also buy inbox placement reports and
blacklist monitoring.
How it did in our test
We ran 100 labelled addresses through six verifiers. Fifty were real: pipe0 users who had signed in with Google in the previous 45 days, 30 on work domains and 20 on Gmail. Fifty were fake: random mailboxes at Gmail, Outlook, and well-known company domains, and addresses at domains that don't exist.
On the easy half, Emailable was perfect. All 20 real Gmail addresses came back deliverable, and all 20 fake freemail addresses and all 10 dead domains came back undeliverable, at a median of 0.3 seconds a check.
Work addresses were different. Of 30 real work addresses, Emailable confirmed 16 and called 12 risky because the domain accepts all mail, which we count as catch-all. Of 20 fake ones, it caught 4 and called 14 catch-all. Its verdicts matched MillionVerifier's on 91 of 100 addresses, against 73 for ZeroBounce and Bouncer, which resolved most of the same domains.
That leaves two bad choices on a work list: send only to its deliverable results and lose 14 of 50 real leads, or send to the catch-alls as well and let 15 fakes through. One of its deliverable verdicts was itself a fake, a random mailbox at hubspot.com that Bouncer also passed.
Emailable has an optional accept-all check that it says slows each request. We ran it on all 50 work addresses. It resolved none of the catch-all verdicts and moved 6 real addresses from deliverable to catch-all, so we scored the default.
What it costs
Pay-as-you-go starts at $38 for 5,000 checks, the minimum purchase, and falls to $60 for 10,000 and $2,100 for a million. A monthly subscription takes 15% off, and unused credits roll over. New accounts get 250 free credits.
At 10,000 checks it costs the same as Bouncer, about half of ZeroBounce ($129), and more than MillionVerifier ($39). Credits never expire, and credits spent on unknown results and duplicates in a list come back when the list finishes.
Emailable for developers and agents
The real-time API allows 25 requests a second and takes a timeout of 2 to 10 seconds. When a check runs long, it answers with status 249 and asks you to send the request again, which is free for five minutes. A batch API takes up to 50,000 addresses. There are official libraries for Ruby, Node, and Python, and a CLI.
There is no MCP server. Instead, the CLI installs an agent skill for Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode, so an agent that can run shell commands can verify an address. Emailable says it is SOC 2 Type II certified, with documents in its trust center.
Who should buy Emailable
Buy Emailable if you clean newsletter, ecommerce, or signup lists that are mostly consumer addresses, and you want a fast check with SOC 2 paperwork behind it.
Look elsewhere if your list is work addresses for cold outbound. For the same price, Bouncer resolved far more of them; ZeroBounce and LeadMagic were more accurate still. For consumer lists where price decides, MillionVerifier gives almost the same answers for less.
Emailable pros and cons
Pros
Flawless on the easy cases
It got all 20 real Gmail addresses, all 20 fake freemail addresses, and all 10 addresses at nonexistent domains right in our test.
Fast
A median of 0.3 seconds per check, tied with ZeroBounce for the fastest of the six verifiers we tested.
SOC 2 Type II
Emailable says it is SOC 2 Type II certified, with documents in a trust center. Bouncer, at the same price, makes no such claim.
Fair billing
Credits never expire, and credits spent on unknown results and duplicates in a list are returned once the list finishes.
Cons
Catch-all on many work domains
It called 12 of 30 real work addresses and 14 of 20 fake ones catch-all. Sending only its valid results kept 36 of 50 real addresses; sending catch-alls too let 15 fakes through.
The deeper check made it worse
Turning on its optional accept-all check resolved none of the catch-all verdicts and moved 6 more real work addresses to catch-all.
One fake passed as valid
A random mailbox at hubspot.com came back deliverable. Bouncer passed it too; the other four verifiers rejected it.
No MCP server
Agents reach it through the CLI and its skill, which needs an agent that can run shell commands.

Frequently asked questions
Is Emailable accurate?
On consumer addresses and dead domains, yes: it got every Gmail, fake freemail, and nonexistent-domain address in our test right. On work domains it called many addresses catch-all, so it got 70 of 100 labelled addresses right, against 96 for ZeroBounce and 93 for Bouncer.
How much does Emailable cost?
Pay-as-you-go starts at $38 for 5,000 checks. 10,000 cost $60 and a million cost $2,100. A monthly subscription takes 15% off. Credits never expire, and new accounts get 250 free credits.
Emailable or Bouncer: which is better?
They cost the same, $60 for 10,000 checks. Bouncer was more accurate in our test, 93 against 70, because it gave definite answers on work domains where Emailable said catch-all. Emailable has SOC 2 Type II; Bouncer has no certification.
Should I turn on Emailable's accept-all check?
Not on our evidence. On 50 work addresses it resolved none of the catch-all verdicts and moved 6 real addresses from deliverable to catch-all. It also slows each check.
Does Emailable have an API and an MCP server?
It has a real-time API at 25 requests a second, a batch API for up to 50,000 addresses, and libraries for Ruby, Node, and Python. There is no MCP server; agents use the Emailable CLI and its agent skill.
