Three Waterfall Enrichment Providers Worth Your Attention

A list of three waterfall data enrichment providers that you can trust. From traditional waterfall to front-loaded waterfalls. Find the provider that fits your stack.

Summarize

Waterfall enrichment has become a household practice in many organizations. It describes the practice of chaining multiple B2B data vendors together to increase coverage.

We've previously written about what waterfall enrichment is in detail.

In this blog post, we want to introduce you to two flavors of waterfall enrichment and compare Surfe, FullEnrich, and pipe0.

Two flavors of waterfall enrichment worth knowing

Embedded waterfalls

Embedded waterfall providers manage the full waterfall for you. You hand them your data and they either return a result or they don't.

If a result is returned, you are charged a flat fee that typically sits between 25¢ and 100¢ per mobile number and 9¢ and 30¢ per work email.

This charge is typically static regardless of which provider returns a result.

Providers that offer this are FullEnrich, Surfe, or BetterContact.

Front-loaded waterfalls

The flat charge of embedded waterfall providers can be cost inhibiting for you. You will pay the same for data that is easily resolvable with cheap providers as you'll pay for data that is hard to resolve.

Embedded waterfall providers trade coverage for cost-efficiency.

Front-loaded waterfalls, in contrast, charge a variable fee for the provider that actually resolves your data.

When designed correctly, they will place a fast, cheap provider in front of an embedded waterfall provider.

With this design you pay less for data that is easy to resolve and more for data that is hard to resolve.

Be aware that this will cost a few points in accuracy.

Three waterfall providers worth your attention

Pipe0 – high coverage & accuracy at low prices

The first provider on this list is pipe0.

Pipe0 is the only front-loaded waterfall provider on this list. It offers an API, MCP, and UI for data enrichment.

With pipe0, you pay a different rate depending on which provider resolves a request. This averages around 14¢ per mobile number and 4¢ per work email. These are the lowest rates on this list. Additionally, pipe0 offers dedicated high-volume pricing to make data enrichment cost-effective when you need to enrich millions of records.

Pipe0's API is also the only API on this list that allows you to change the list and order of providers in the waterfall on demand.

These attributes make pipe0 stand out among the providers on this list.

FullEnrich – high coverage at higher prices

FullEnrich is a traditional waterfall provider. According to their marketing documentation, they combine 20+ providers for their waterfalls and claim the highest match rates in the industry.

We cannot confirm this. In our benchmarks, both Surfe and pipe0 consistently beat FullEnrich on both accuracy and coverage.

However, FullEnrich is still an established provider that provides match rates that are far above average when compared to other providers.

FullEnrich is on the pricier side, charging a flat rate of roughly 55¢ per enriched phone number and 5.5¢ per work email.

In addition to enrichment, FullEnrich also offers an endpoint for reverse email lookup and search.

Surfe – high coverage & high accuracy

Surfe is a newer enrichment provider based in France. In our testing, Surfe had excellent coverage and scored high on accuracy.

On average, a work email enrichment costs roughly 9¢, while a mobile enrichment costs roughly 24¢.

Surfe is another traditional waterfall provider, charging a fixed fee per enrichment.
