> ZoomInfo is the reference database for US B2B data, with intent signals, a research team, and an MCP server for most AI clients. Its main plans are unpublished annual contracts that can't be cancelled.

**Verdict: 3.4/5.** One of the deepest US B2B databases you can buy, with intent data and agent access across a dozen AI clients. You pay enterprise prices on a contract you can't cancel, for one company's dataset.

| Criterion | Score | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ease of use | 3.5/5 | A large product to learn, sold through sales and set up by admins. The new GTM.AI self-serve tier is far easier to start with. |
| Data quality | 4.0/5 | 500M+ contacts and 100M+ companies, checked by a research team and a contributory network. It is still one dataset, strongest in the US. |
| Pricing value | 2.0/5 | Main plans are unpublished annual contracts that can't be cancelled. Self-serve data credits list at $0.38 each. |
| API and agent access | 4.0/5 | An MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini, and more, plus a REST API at 25 requests a second. Both need a paid license. |
| **Overall** (mean) | **3.4/5** | |

**Best for:**

- Enterprise sales teams selling into US companies
- Marketing teams that run on intent data and ABM
- Companies that want one vendor and one contract for all of it

**Skip it if:**

- You need a monthly plan you can cancel
- Most of your market is outside the US
- You want coverage from more than one dataset

**Price:** from $20 for a self-serve GTM.AI top-up; main plans are not published. Free plan available.

## What is ZoomInfo? [#what-is-zoominfo]

ZoomInfo is one of the largest B2B contact and company databases in the
US market, and for many enterprise sales teams it is the default. It started
in 2007 as DiscoverOrg, bought ZoomInfo in 2019 and took its name, and went
public a year later. Henry Schuck, who founded DiscoverOrg, still runs it from
Vancouver, Washington. It had $1.25 billion in revenue in 2025 and more than
35,000 customers.

The product has grown well past a database. Around 500 million contacts and
100 million companies sit intent data, conversation intelligence (Chorus),
sales automation, ABM advertising, and Copilot, its AI assistant for reps.

## Where its data comes from [#where-its-data-comes-from]

ZoomInfo combines millions of public sources with a contributory network,
in which users of its free Lite edition and paying customers share contact
data from their email, and with a team of research analysts who verify
records by hand. That mix is why its US data, especially for mid-size and
large companies, is what many teams treat as the reference.

It is still one company's dataset. Where ZoomInfo is thin, outside the US
or on small companies, there is no second source behind it. We haven't
benchmarked ZoomInfo, so we can't put a number on that gap.

## What it costs [#what-it-costs]

ZoomInfo doesn't publish prices for its main plans. They are sold by its
sales team as seats plus a monthly credit allowance on annual contracts, and
its license terms say the agreement is not cancellable. Its own filings
describe a shift, starting in the third quarter of 2026, to a lower platform
fee plus pre-purchased data credits.

The exception is GTM.AI, its new self-serve tier. Signup is free with 1,000
data credits and 1,000 AI credits, top-ups start at $20, and data credits
list at $0.38 each, with no contract and no seats. Mobile numbers are
Enterprise only there. ZoomInfo Lite remains a free community edition with a
small monthly allowance.

## ZoomInfo for agents [#zoominfo-for-agents]

ZoomInfo moved quickly on agents. Its MCP server at `mcp.zoominfo.com` signs
in with OAuth and works in Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor,
Microsoft Copilot, Gemini Enterprise, Perplexity, and Slack. The REST API
behind it allows 25 requests a second on the standard tier. Both need a paid
license, so the free Lite edition doesn't qualify.

## ZoomInfo vs pipe0 [#zoominfo-vs-pipe0]

pipe0 doesn't have ZoomInfo's research team or its intent data. Where they
overlap is contact and company data, and there the difference is the model.
ZoomInfo answers from one dataset on an annual contract. pipe0 runs
waterfalls across 50+ providers, bills only the provider that found the
result, and starts at $49 a month with no contract. The
[full comparison](/compare/pipe0-vs-zoominfo) covers the details.

## Who should buy ZoomInfo [#who-should-buy-zoominfo]

Buy ZoomInfo if you are an enterprise selling into US companies, you use
intent data, and one vendor on one contract suits your procurement.

Look elsewhere if you need a plan you can cancel, if your market is outside
the US, or if you want coverage from more than one source.

## ZoomInfo pros and cons

### Pros

- **A deep US dataset.** ZoomInfo says it covers 500M+ contacts, 100M+ companies, and 135M+ verified phone numbers, built from public sources, a contributory network, and a team of research analysts.
- **Intent data built in.** Streaming Intent shows which accounts are researching your topics, and the marketing plans add ABM display campaigns on top.
- **Agent access across a dozen clients.** Its MCP server works in Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini Enterprise, Perplexity, and Slack.
- **A self-serve way in.** GTM.AI lets you sign up free with 1,000 data credits and buy more from $20, with no contract and no seat fees.

### Cons

- **Contracts you can't cancel.** The main plans are sold on annual terms that ZoomInfo's license calls not cancellable, at prices it doesn't publish.
- **One dataset.** Every answer comes from ZoomInfo's own database. Where it is thin, outside the US or on small companies, there is no second source.
- **Mobile numbers are gated.** On the self-serve GTM.AI tier, mobile phone data is listed as Enterprise only.
- **Open privacy lawsuits.** ZoomInfo's SEC filings list class actions over personality rights in Washington, privacy in Quebec, and published cell numbers in Colorado.
