Disclosure: pipe0 buys data from Forager and uses it in its waterfalls. The scores come from our own benchmark, not from that relationship.

> Forager is a B2B data API that answered phone lookups in 80 milliseconds in our benchmark, with numbers that matched premium sources and a tie for the most personal emails found. It has no MCP server.

**Verdict: 3.4/5.** The fastest contact data API we measured, at 80 milliseconds a phone lookup, with fresh LinkedIn-based data and answers that match premium sources. Built for developers, with no MCP server yet.

| Criterion | Score | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ease of use | 3.0/5 | Data infrastructure first: an API, bulk data feeds, and a simple web app. Most teams reach it through code or a waterfall. |
| Data quality | 4.0/5 | Its mobile numbers matched Amplemarket and Surfe 86% of the time, it tied for the most personal emails found, and it recrawls every 2.5 weeks. |
| Pricing value | 3.5/5 | From $50 a month, with mobiles from 21 to 33 cents and emails from 7 to 11 cents. Credit use per call is not fully documented. |
| API and agent access | 3.0/5 | The fastest API we tested, but no MCP server and no published rate limits. |
| **Overall** (mean) | **3.4/5** | |

**Best for:**

- Products and agents that need contact data in real time
- Personal email lookups from LinkedIn profiles
- Platforms that want bulk people and company data as a feed

**Skip it if:**

- You want an MCP server or a no-code prospecting app
- You need the highest mobile coverage from one provider
- You need documented rate limits and billing for every call

**Price:** from $50/mo for Starter, billed monthly ($45 annual). No free plan.

## Forager in our benchmark

pipe0 ran the same records through every provider it tests (August 2026).

| Test | Records | Coverage | Agreement | Median time | Run |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| LinkedIn URL to mobile (LinkedIn profiles) | 150 | 43.3% | 72% | 0.08 s | 20260804T202803Z-237d |
| LinkedIn URL to personal email (LinkedIn profiles) | 150 | 52% | 80% | – | 20260814T102434Z-7165 |

### How fast Forager answers

LinkedIn URL to mobile, median response time per lookup (run 20260804T202803Z-237d).

- Forager: 0.08 s
- Wiza: 3.0 s
- Amplemarket (premium): 18.6 s

### How often Forager agrees with other providers

LinkedIn URL to mobile (run 20260804T202803Z-237d).

- Amplemarket (premium): Forager and Amplemarket returned the same mobile number for 50 of 58 people (86%).
- Surfe: Forager and Surfe returned the same mobile number for 56 of 65 people (86%).

- On personal email, Forager and Wiza tied for the most found, 52% each.
- Samples are small, 150 records per test, so treat a few points of difference as noise.
- The LinkedIn profile set passed one vendor's resolvability filter, so absolute rates run higher than on a typical list. Comparisons between providers stay fair.
- Agreement is the share of results that match what other providers returned for the same person. It is a proxy for accuracy, not ground truth.

## What is Forager? [#what-is-forager]

Forager is B2B data infrastructure: people, company, and job data for
platforms, AI agents, and waterfall tools rather than for salespeople
clicking through an app. It says it holds more than 850 million person and
company records and 200 million mobile numbers, and it recrawls them about
every 2.5 weeks. You can query it by API, or take the whole dataset as a feed
into S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Snowflake.

## Speed first [#speed-first]

Forager's defining number in our benchmark is speed. It answered phone
lookups from LinkedIn profiles in a median of 80 milliseconds. Wiza took 3
seconds on the same profiles and Amplemarket 18.6. For a product where a
user is waiting, or an agent making hundreds of lookups in a row, that
difference is the whole experience.

Speed doesn't come at the cost of accuracy. When Forager and Amplemarket both
found a mobile number for the same person, they matched 50 times out of 58,
and with Surfe 56 out of 65. Its coverage sits in the middle: it found a
mobile for 43% of 150 profiles, behind the providers that run their own
waterfalls.

On personal email it was among the best. From the same set of profiles,
Forager and Wiza tied for the most consumer addresses found, at 52% each.
Its personal email endpoint only returns webmail addresses like Gmail and
Outlook, which is usually what a personal email search is for anyway.

## What it costs [#what-it-costs]

Plans start at $50 a month for 2,250 credits, then $100 for 5,250 and $250
for 16,200, with 10% off billed annually. A phone number costs 15 credits and
an email 5, which Forager itself shows as 21 to 33 cents per mobile and 7 to 11
cents per email. Monthly credits roll over and plans cancel anytime.

The docs leave some questions open. Email lookups that find nothing are
free, but the docs don't say whether the same is true for phones, and rate
limits aren't published.

## Forager for developers [#forager-for-developers]

Most endpoints are synchronous and very fast; work email lookups run as
async jobs you poll, with a webhook for bulk requests. There is no MCP
server, so agents reach Forager through its REST API or through a tool that
wraps it.

## Forager and pipe0 [#forager-and-pipe0]

We buy data from Forager. It is part of pipe0's default personal email
waterfall, chosen for the personal email result above, and its speed makes
it a good fit wherever an agent is waiting on the answer.

## Who should buy Forager [#who-should-buy-forager]

Buy Forager if you are building a product or an agent that needs contact
data in real time, or if you want bulk people and company data delivered as
a feed.

Look elsewhere if you want an MCP server, a prospecting app for your sales
team, or the highest mobile coverage from a single provider.

## Forager pros and cons

### Pros

- **Faster than anything else we measured.** Forager answered phone lookups in a median of 80 milliseconds, against 3 seconds for Wiza and 18.6 for Amplemarket on the same profiles.
- **Answers that match premium sources.** When Forager and Amplemarket both found a mobile number for the same person, they matched 50 times out of 58. With Surfe, 56 out of 65.
- **Strong on personal email.** From 150 LinkedIn profiles, Forager and Wiza tied for the most personal email addresses found, 52% each.
- **Fresh data, several ways in.** Forager recrawls its records about every 2.5 weeks and delivers them by API or as bulk feeds to S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Snowflake.

### Cons

- **No MCP server.** Agents reach Forager through its REST API only. There is no MCP server or agent plugin.
- **Mid-pack mobile coverage.** From 150 LinkedIn profiles it found 43% of mobile numbers, behind the highest-coverage providers.
- **Gaps in the docs.** Rate limits aren't published, and the docs don't say whether a phone lookup that finds nothing is charged.
- **Personal email means webmail only.** The personal email endpoint returns consumer addresses like Gmail and Outlook, and reverse lookups only work on those.
